Plot twist: This fall comes with a plus one

Nov 17, 2025

Hello Darlings!

Last month, I wrote that "fall has always been my season." But truthfully, it hasn't always been the pumpkin-spice version I romanticize now.

In fact, you might remember the downward spiral of Calling It Off: Memoir of an Almost Bride, circa November 2018.

I was at one of my lowest, most destructive, and most depressed times in my entire life, and though I don't plan to revisit that train wreck again, you can still experience it vicariously with an HBP and a rereading of Chapter 4: Spiraling.

Hopefully, you are not in a place where you can relate to that carnage, but perhaps you understand the depths of those lows. The realization that I was on a path that directly conflicted with the future I had always hoped for. The beginning of my knowing.

Like the horror flick trope of a girl headed up a darkened staircase, my mind, gut, and heart were all screaming "NO! DON'T GO THAT WAY!"

Flash forward to this fall, and that version of me could never fathom the tough choices and equally as magical outcomes that have shaped my current life. It's wild how the same season that once broke me now brings me so much warmth and contentment.

Here are some highlights of my favorite falls since the story of Calling It Off ended:

Fall 2019, I met My Love, aka Mr. Potentially Perfect, and we fell deeply and madly in love.

Fall 2022, we officially became Mr. and Mrs. Woller.

Fall 2024, I proudly announced that I was going to be a published author.

Each fall has rewritten my story in its own meaningful way.

This year, I may only get one newsletter out each month, but I do have a valid excuse that most of you already know:

Baby Girl Woller is coming April 2026!

As you can see from our recent round of family photos, Rose is already stepping into her role as a big sister. And what a sweet treat it's been to widely share the news with family and friends.

Halloween season will soon be replaced with Thanksgiving, but for now, we are savoring every last moment as a family of three.

It's spooky how we'll soon be balancing an infant with our curious toddler who continues to learn, grow, and push the boundaries. Yet, oh how grateful we are to give her a sister and the life-long companionship that only siblings can bring.

I swear they're already trading secrets and plotting grand adventures, though that may just be my witchy woo woo talking. 😉

With much love,

Katherine Rose Woller

P.S. I'd love to hear all the tricks-and-treats of parenting you remember as a mom, dad, or even as a sibling!

P.P.S. If you'd like to relive the carnage (without the existential crisis), then Chapter 4 of Calling It Off has you covered. Grab the hardback, paperback, Kindle, or my personal favorite, the Audible version, for extra drama and flair.
