SERVICE & SUPPORT

Beyond my writing, I am deeply committed to supporting organizations that nurture community, expand access to education, and care for others' well-being.

These are the places I feel most called to show up, give back, and stay connected to what matters most:

What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”

 Boulder Library Foundation

Funding innovation, capital improvements, creativity, and expanded outreach for Boulder’s libraries.

I come from a long line of readers.

My grandmother was a teacher and lifelong lover of books, and I began my own career in education. I am a firm believer in the capacity of books to change lives, and that all starts with access.

Our local Boulder library has already become a place of wonder for my eldest daughter, from story time to music classes to the simple joy of choosing her own books. Supporting the library feels like investing in both her future and the collective growth of our entire community.

Because access to learning should never be limited.

 Denver Botanic Gardens

Connecting people with plants, especially plants from the Rocky Mountain region and similar regions around the world, providing delight and enlightenment to everyone.

Some of my earliest memories are of slow, sunlit afternoons at the Oklahoma City Botanic Gardens with my grandparents.

They were lifelong plant enthusiasts who quietly and consistently taught me the grounding and expansive quality of spending time in nature. That passion has stayed with me for a lifetime, and I feel deeply called to pass it on to my daughters.

Through my involvement with the Fête des Fleurs Gala committee, I’ve seen firsthand the care, intention, and effort that go into making the gardens a place of beauty, education, and accessibility for the wider community.

It’s a reminder that connection to the natural world is not a luxury; it’s essential.

2221 Society, Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation

In partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation, the 2221 Society works to identify and fund projects that need significant philanthropic support and will advance pediatric medicine and care.

Nothing matters more to me than my daughters' health and well-being.

Each year, members of the 2221 Society thoughtfully evaluate where philanthropic support can have the greatest impact, whether in research, treatment, therapy, or patient and family care. Their collective efforts fund a special annual initiative that pushes pediatric care forward in meaningful, often life-changing ways.

As both a mother and the daughter of a physician, this work feels deeply personal. Supporting the advancement of pediatric medicine is not just important; it’s something I feel truly drawn to.

 Junior League of Denver

Advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

The Junior League of Denver will always have my heart.

When I first moved to Colorado more than a decade ago, it was the place where I found my first community and friendships that still shape my life today. It was also where I stepped into my earliest leadership roles and experienced, for the first time, what meaningful, hands-on service could look like.

During my years as an active member, I served across multiple committees and co-chaired the organization’s annual gala, The Journey, for two years. Today, as a sustainer, my commitment continues.

At its core, JLD develops women's leadership potential in ways that ripple far beyond the organization itself. As a mother of two daughters, that mission is more important to me than ever.
